A walk exploring the raised mires of the Cardurnock Peninsula. You can see ponds and wet meadows which are a haven for birdlife.
An easy walk but check the tides at the Discovery Centre beforehand. Enjoy the panoramic sea views across to Scotland as well as the opportunity to see birds such as Linnet, Stonechat and Whitethroat.
A walk that skirts the Drumburgh Moss National Nature Reserve and takes in the River Wampool. Rare plants will be in evidence and otters can be found in the River Wampool, but look closely as they can be difficult to spot.
The architecture of the Solway Coast is varied and fascinating. This route takes you through two Solway villages and the land around where you will see a wide variety of bird species.
A lovely feature of this walk are sunken lanes where wildflowers flourish and in April and May, bluebells and primroses emerge.
