Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is a dynamic and forward-looking organisation run by the community for the benefit of the community, as well as visitors to the area. Fully accredited and managed by a largely volunteer-run charitable company on behalf of Keswick Museum & Art Gallery Trust. We care for and share about 20,000 objects in our collection, which reflects life in the Keswick and Derwent Seven Parishes areas.
Keswick Museum is launching a scheme to Adopt an Object for Christmas 2020. Our packages make great Christmas gifts, you can choose one of a range of local objects to sponsor for a year. All proceeds will support the Museum to care for Keswick’s wonderful heritage.Examples up for adoption are the Musical Stones, John Opie’s portrait of Robert Southey, and – of course – the Museum’s famous 700-year-old cat.
Adopt an Object and receive:
• A card featuring images of the Museum’s collections
• A certificate featuring the name of the adopter and a picture of the chosen object
• A ticket to visit the Museum which is valid for 12 months
The Museum is temporarily closed, following government guidelines. People wishing to adopt an object can visit the museum’s website
